Lawyers Giving Back

In 2009, the SDCBA launched Lawyers Giving Back, a year long campaign to promote pro bono work, volunteerism and community service.  Community Service has long-been a priority for the SDCBA, however, through this campaign the SDCBA is challenging each of its members to dedicate at least 50 hours this year to volunteer service, which mirrors the American Bar Association's recommended standard for pro bono work.

Board of Directors Election

Have you considered getting involved in a leadership position in the SDCBA?  Nominations are now open for the 2010 SDCBA Board of Directors.  Any SDCBA member who has been an Active Member of the SDCBA for at least three years, is in good standing, and is admitted to the State Bar of California may self-nominate by submitting a Candidate Nomination Form before August 3, 2009.  The Candidate Nomination Form and further information about the SDCBA Board of Directors election process can be found at www.sdcba.org/boardnomination.

There are four “at large” Board positions, and one regional position (South County Division) up for election this year.  To qualify to run for the regional seat, a candidate must have his or her primary office located in the South County Division geographic area.  The term of office for all positions is three years.
