    Modest Means Program - Family Law

    The Modest Means Program is designed to assist clients who are having a Family Law dispute and are able to pay for legal services but have limited financial resources available. Clients must meet specific income and asset guidelines. Clients are matched with attorneys who can assist them at a substanially reduced rates. Clients will be referred to an attorney who will charge $75 an hour and ask for a $1,000 retainer.

    By joining the Modest Means Program as a panel attorney, you will not only assist people who would otherwise have nowhere else to trun but you will also:

    • Gain valuable experience
    • Expand your client base
    • Establish yourself in the legal community

    If you are interested in joining the Modest Means Program as a panel attorney, please complete the Modest Means Application. We will also request a current copy of the Declarations page from your liability insurance.

    There shall be no registration fee charged to attorney applicants if they are members of the SDCBA. The registration fee for non-SDCBA members is $300 annually.
