The Lawyer Referral and Information Service can make a referral to a licensed, insured attorney experienced in the area of law related to your legal problem.

RECEIVE A FREE 30 MINUTE INITIAL CONSULTATION

LRIS is the only non-profit legal referral service sponsored by the San Diego County Bar Association. It has been referring callers to some of San Diego's finest attorneys for more than 50 years.

LRIS panel attorneys have expertise in more than 35 areas of the law. Each call is carefully screened by trained counselors to assure a referral to the right attorney. Prospective clients receive a free, brief consultation to review the legal issue and discuss fees.

LRIS provides bilingual services, meets American Bar Association standards set forth for referral services and is certified by the State Bar of California. (Certification #0043)

If you would like a referral, the fastest way to proceed is to call the Lawyer Referral and Information Service at (619) 231-8585 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you prefer, you can submit a request directly via this site.

    Important Reminders
All information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be provided to anyone other than your attorney.
We will make up to three referrals per case, one at a time.
    We do not provide lists.
We do not make referrals to free attorneys.
LRIS attorneys provide the first half-hour consultation FREE.
You should discuss legal fees at the consultation and obtain a written fee agreement if you hire the attorney.
We do not make referrals to "experts" or "specialists." The members of the LRIS are competent, experienced and trained to handle the area of law you request. You should ask about their level of experience.
If the first referral does not work out, feel free to contact us again for another name.
We will require you to provide us with some basic information. This is for our files only. We need your name so we can let the attorney know to expect your call. We need your address so we may send you a survey asking you to rate the quality of our service. You will not receive any other mailings from us and your information is not given to any other organizations.
