Education & Training

The San Diego County Bar Association is your home for quality legal education programs.

Each year, we offer more than 300 hours of quality programming at reduced rates for our members.

Our programs cover a broad spectrum of legal and practical issues that will help you keep up to date on your field, your practice and legal trends. Our speakers are recognized as experts in their fields. We also attract speakers who are known to audiences throughout California and nationally.

We recognize the varying needs and schedules of our members, so we make our programs available in a variety of formats:
  • Live, in person, sessions conducted at the Bar Center and at locations around the County. These sessions range from 1-1.5 hour lunch programs to 3 hour evening seminars to all day Saturday events
  • Live teleconferences enjoyed from the convenience of your home or office
  • Web based, on demand programming that is approved for participatory CLE credit
  • Downloadable, audio self-study content available for purchase
  • DVD/Video self study content for available for purchase
  • Downloadable content from State Bar Annual Meetings and national events
Many of our members are certified as Legal Specialists and turn to the SDCBA to satisfy their annual requirements.

Individuals and groups interested in presenting a CLE seminar for the SDCBA should consult the documents below and submit an application.
In addition to ongoing Continuing Legal Education, the Bar provides non-CLE training related to a variety of topics.  Orientation programs focused on specific community service related programs may not provide CLE credits, but are essential to learning about organizations and groups with volunteer needs and providing quality service to the public.
