Volunteer Opportunities

The San Diego County Bar Association’s Community Service Committee is looking for volunteers to participate in a Community Housing Works “Facelift” of physically distressed homes on October 25. The Facelift project is a spruce-up-a-block-in-a-day event that is accomplished through the help of community volunteers, neighborhood associations and local business leaders acting as a catalyst to build pride and equality in neighborhoods. FaceLift gives priority to senior citizens, disabled persons and low-income families that need assistance to paint the exterior of their homes, provide minor landscaping, and remove trash and debris from the entire area. If you are interested in participating in Facelift email your name and contact information to bar@sdcba.org with “Facelift” in the subject line.

Project SALUTE is seeking volunteers a three-day clinic in San Diego. Project Salute is a program designed by the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law to provide free legal aid to low-income Veterans nationally; to assist Veterans in obtaining their federal disability and pension benefits. Veterans intake interviews will occur October 8 & 9, and a free training seminar for pro bono attorneys will be held on October 10. For more information, or to volunteer contact Alesa Silver at alesasilver@yahoo.com
