| President's Message 2008 is the year of the Civility, Integrity, and Professionalism Campaign at the SDCBA! Please join us this Thursday, November 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Bar Center, for our final Campaign event of the year. It is an our inaugural Jay Wheeler Civility Seminar, entitled "Be Civil, Grow Rich: The Benefits of Civility, Integrity, and Professionalism in the Practice of Law." Three distinguished panelists- Judge Cormac Carney, Professor Erwin Chemerinsky, and Trial Attorney Thomas Girardi- will discuss the role of attorneys as officers of court; the effect of civility on advocacy; the benefits of professionalism to trial lawyers; the reputational impact within the court of poor behavior; and more. | Volunteer Opportunities Affordable Housing Advocates (AHA) is seeking applications from attorneys who are interested in serving on the board of directors, on a board committee or as an advisor, for three year terms. Applicants must practice or reside in San Diego County or the region. AHA provides free legal assistance to low income residents of San Diego County.
