2009 SDCBA Annual Service Awards

Community Service
Outstanding service to the needs of the community (e.g. charitable, cultural, humanitarian or educational), other than directly through the San Diego County Bar Association.

Service to the SDCBA
Outstanding service to the Association as a volunteer, in a role other than as an officer or director.

Service to the Legal Profession
Outstanding service to the administration of justice and/or the needs of the profession.

Service to Legal Education
Outstanding work in the field of legal education, as a professional educator, part-time educator or volunteer.

Service by a Public Attorney
A combination of excellence in the practice of law with service to the community, the profession, the Association or legal education.

Distinguished Citizen
Outstanding service by a person who is not a lawyer or a judge, whose contributions over a period of time have had a significant favorable impact on some facet of the legal system.

Distinguished Organization
Outstanding service by a group or association not composed primarily of lawyers or judges, the contributions of which over a period of time have had a significant favorable impact on some facet of the legal system.

Service to Diversity
Outstanding service by a member of the legal profession, in promoting and encouraging diversity within the legal profession.

Outstanding Jurist
An exemplary jurist who provides outstanding community service above and beyond just service to the legal profession.

Public Service by a Law Firm or Agency
Outstanding service by a law firm or agency (public or private) for public or community service.

Outstanding Attorney of the Year
An exemplary attorney who provides outstanding community service above and beyond just service to the legal profession.

Step 2 -	Fill out the form completley Be sure to fill in the appropriate Award Category (.pdf) using the list above. You can fill out the form electronically and e-mail it back (using Adobe Acrobat see Step 3). Or you may print the form and mail it back to the SDCBA (see Step 3a).
