I don't know how to put this, but being a YNLD Director is kind of a big deal. People know them. They are very important. They have many leather-bound books and their apartments smell of rich mahogany. Well, that might be more of a Ron Burgundy pick-up line than a hard fact, but I can say, honestly, that the YNLD is kind of a big deal.
Of all the attorneys in San Diego County with less than seven years of experience, over fifty-five percent are members of the YNLD. Notable players in the San Diego business community, law firms, and other young professional organizations are beginning to take notice of the momentum and energy behind San Diego’s YNLD. This momentum must be why we continue to receive nominations for the 2008 YNLD Board of Directors.
If you want a piece of this action, the YNLD is accepting nominations for its 2008 Board of Directors until September 1st. The 15 members of the YNLD Board work together to organize and run YNLD programs and events. Candidates must be willing and able to make a small, non-arduous time commitment to meet once per month and to coordinate and/or assist with various YNLD projects. Members of the YNLD (members of the San Diego County Bar Association in practice for less than seven years) may nominate themselves for candidacy.
Specifically, the YNLD is looking for a diverse group of individuals who have the drive to serve the legal community while gaining countless opportunities to work together with the judiciary, high-profile attorneys, the SDCBA President, and SDCBA Board. Serving as a YNLD Director is extremely worthwhile as it gives you a recognizable voice in the SDCBA.
