Hello New Lawyers:
Thank you to everyone who attended our March meet-up at Searsucker in Del Mar. It was an absolutely amazing event and we were so excited to meet everyone who came. We hope you will continue to join us at future events. Our meet-up in May will be a hike at the Torrey Pines Hiking Trails on Thursday, May 16th at 5:30 p.m. and is co-hosted by the SDCBA’s Wellness Interest Group. Please feel free to invite your friends, family, significant others, co-workers, and bring your fur-babies. The event is free and open to all. Hope to see you there!
The New Lawyer Forum Executive Committee is constantly being asked how we can better engage the New Lawyer constituency. What do new lawyers want? How can we better mentor them and prepare them for their practice? What can the SDCBA and the New Lawyer Forum offer to ensure their growth and success? How do we develop new lawyers as leaders? The SDCBA and New Lawyer Forum are committed to ensuring your continued success, development, and growth. We are here to serve you and to that end I welcome each and every one of you to email me personally at email@example.com and submit your thoughts and suggestions. I want to hear from you so please do not hesitate to reach out.
I am also very excited to inform you that the SDCBA has hired a new Executive Director, Jill Epstein. Jill is an attorney and an experienced association executive. Jill’s hire is the culmination of nearly a 5-month nationwide search conducted by an extremely diligent and demographically diverse search committee in conjunction with a national search firm specializing in placing association executives. Jill’s leadership and expertise in association management and her understanding and knowledge of San Diego and our legal community make her an ideal fit for this position. We are all very excited for all she will bring the SDCBA and I hope you will all join me in warmly welcoming Jill to the SDCBA.
Finally, I want to continue to encourage each of you to take advantage of our For the Record e-publication and submit your proposed articles to our Editor in Chief, Kevin Hambly at firstname.lastname@example.org. May’s issue will be focused on Family Law but the following months include topics such as Construction Law, Government Law, Real Property Law, Insurance Law, Environmental Law, Military Law, and Bankruptcy Law. Articles must be 800 to 1,000 words in length. Please reach out to Kevin if you have any questions.
We hope that you will continue to join us and be sure to look out for future emails with events, programming, and our monthly publication, For the Record. Also, make sure to check out our website at https://www.sdcba.org/?pg=NewLawyerForum and like us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SDCBAForum/ to stay connected. Hope to see you all very soon!
