Message from the Chair

Dear NLD,

This has certainly been an unusual month for not only our legal community, but our local San Diego community and country at large. On behalf of the entire NLD Executive Committee, we hope that you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.

I want to take this month to encourage all of you to practice social distancing whenever possible and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and our local government. Please work from home if at all possible and only venture out in public for necessities.  If you must work in an office setting, maintain a 6-feet distance from your coworkers and wash your hands frequently. In the age of the internet, I am confident that we will get through the COVID-19 pandemic together – while physically separate.

I also want to encourage all of you to follow SDCBA on Facebook. SDCBA has been providing regular updates on San Diego Court closures and tips on how to run a business while engaging in social distancing. I also recommend following SD Superior Court on Twitter to receive real-time updates for San Diego Court operations.

As you may know, out of an abundance of caution, NLD cancelled our monthly meetup that was scheduled for March 12th.  We are hopeful that we will be able to resume our regularly scheduled meetups in the near future. However, the health and safety of our members is our number one priority, and we will not resume in-person programming until the threat of COVID-19 is under control. The NLD Executive Committee will be holding a remote meeting on March 23rd to discuss the plans for future meetups. We hope to have an update for you soon. Netflix Party and social distance, anyone?

On behalf of the NLD Executive Committee, stay safe, wash your hands frequently, and we’ll hopefully see you soon.
