I love this time of year. However, it’s also time when I don’t get to see all my NABE buddies for the longest stretch.
My almost two-year term as chair will come to a close at the Annual Meeting in Chicago this summer. At that time, I will pass the beloved balloon hat over to Tim Eigo. The time I have spent as your chair has meant a lot to me and I hope to continue to assist the section in any way I can moving forward. Please consider applying for a council position. It is a rewarding gig and you get to hang out with some great people. If you want more information on the council, just email or call me. Call for nominations will be sent out sometime soon so be on the lookout.
Registration will be opening up soon for the NABEComm Workshop in Omaha, Oct. 2-5. Look for some great programming and fun events like a reception at the Omaha’s famous Henry Doorly Zoo. It is going to be a lot of fun, like it is every year of course. Kudos to Sam Clinch who really stepped up and offered to host the event, even though he’s never been to a Communications Workshop.
In 2019 we already have our eyes set on Cleveland.
If you are interested in hosting a workshop, please reach out to me – firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-824-5350. When we hosted in Denver several years ago it was a lot of work, but I’d do it again because it was so much fun.
I look forward to seeing you all soon.
Chair, NABE Communications Section Chair
