The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) went into effect on January 1, 2020, and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) was approved by California voters on November 3, 2020 and will be effective in 2023. There are significant differences between the CPRA and the CCPA that can affect operations and collection of personal data, including in the employment context. The time to prepare is now.
