New Attorneys Encouraged to Join New LRIS Panels

If you are ready to gain experience and grow your practice, consider joining one of our Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) panels. Two new panels have just been introduced — debtor representation and enforcement of judgements, and there are 41 additional LRIS panels. The criteria for joining LRIS has recently changed, and is less restrictive for newer attorneys. Learn more and join here.

The determination of when the statute of limitation begins to run in an attorney malpractice case is not as simple as consulting Code of Civil Procedure section 340.6, which states an action “shall be commenced within one year after the plaintiff discovers, or through the use of reasonable diligence should have discovered, the facts constituting the wrongful act or omission….” The question to ponder is: “One year from what?”
