Get back to basics at SDCBA's 3 part Technology Summer School series. SDCBA members save $25 when you register for the full series. Individual programs may be purchased separately as well. 

The series content is intended for the intermediate PC user and is delivered using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel 2016 (for Windows). Please bring your laptop to follow along and learn in a relaxed and fun group setting.

PROGRAM 2: WORD ESSENTIALS FOR LEGAL PROFESSIONALS 
Tuesday, August 7, 2018, 12 - 1 PM

Creating legal documents is a part of every lawyer’s day to day practice. Knowing how to take advantage of a word processors powerful automation and document development features can help any lawyer serve their clients more efficiently and with minimized errors in their document products.

  • Shortcuts and tips for working more efficiently
  • Storing and retrieving boilerplate text to minimize grammatical errors
  • Finalizing the document, checking for hidden information and metadata

This course is delivered using Microsoft Word 2016 (for Windows).

 

PROGRAM 3: EXCEL ESSENTIALS FOR LEGAL PROFESSIONALS - REGISTER HERE FOR THIS PROGRAM ONLY
Tuesday, September 4, 2018, 12 - 1 PM

From simply printing a real estate closing statement to creating and manipulating a clients' estate asset worksheet, every lawyer needs basic spreadsheet skills. Excel can help lawyers analyze and present cases more effectively or help them better understand and manage complex business transactions. Anytime you have a case that involves numbers (dollars, damages, numeric facts, chronologies, etc) Excel can help. This session is designed to help lawyers gain a solid understanding of Excel and how it can be used to create and manage client and matter related data.

  • Understanding worksheets and excel functions
  • Performing calculations for settlement offers, and damages, business deals
  • Sorting and filtering data for large data sets such as exhibit lists and medical malpractice summaries

This course is delivered using Microsoft Excel 2016 (for Windows).

 

This program will be available webcast or live in-person.
An option to purchase a lunch is available, although you are welcome to bring your own lunch.
