Tawnya Boulan Austin, Deputy Attorney General for the State of California, is assigned to the Electronic Crimes Unit where she prosecutes complex white collar crime, cybercrime and identity theft. She has been a prosecutor for the Attorney General’s Office since 2001. She is a San Diego county native and an alumnus of San Diego State University. She received her law degree from California Western School of Law. Prior to her assignment as a Deputy Attorney General, she worked in Ventura County as a Deputy District Attorney. She also worked as a deputy at the San Diego City Attorney’s office where she prosecuted domestic violence cases. Currently, she is a team member of the local computer crime task force, CATCH (Computer And Technology Crime High-Tech Response Team). Her jurisdiction is San Diego, Orange, Los Angles, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Imperial Counties.
