Delcianna Winders is the vice president and deputy general counsel of Captive Animal Law Enforcement for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Foundation. Through lawsuits, advocacy for new legislation, and other legal efforts, she pushes authorities to create and enforce local, state, and federal laws designed to help captive animals who are suffering in roadside zoos or beaten into performing in circuses. She was Harvard's first-ever Animal Law & Policy academic fellow, she has published extensively in media outlets and law reviews across the country, and she was featured in O, The Oprah Magazine as one of "Six Women Who Dare."
