Please join us for the SDCBA's 2015 Jay Wheeler Civility, Integrity and Professionalism Program.

Nationally renowned litigator Lewis Sifford, a recipient of the National Masters in Trial Award by ABOTA, will begin the evening with a discussion on how civility has factored into his trials and results. His tips on "leading a professional life" have been widely acclaimed on a nationwide basis. This presentation will be followed by an in-depth panel discussion of hypothetical situations derived from a real life experiences. Bringing decades of trial experience and practice to the table, ABOTA and American College of Trial Lawyers leaders Donna Melby and Virginia Nelson will explore the interplay of civility and ethics with discovery disputes, settlement negotiations, the use of social media, client pressures, judicial expectations, and more. Immediate Past President of SDCBA and Appellate Law Specialist, Jon Williams will add his insight into the relationship between ethics, civility, and success in the appellate setting.

All of these important issues will be explored from a variety of perspectives—federal practice vs. state practice, large firms vs. small firms, and experienced attorneys vs. new practitioners. Please join us for this seminal program to learn more about how to conduct your practice in accordance with the highest of standards, while at the same time achieving personal and professional success.
