Summary

Neil D. Kalin, Assistant General Counsel for the California Association of Realtors (“C.A.R.”) and the senior legal advisor to C.A.R.'s Standard Forms Committee, has been instrumental in creating, cultivating, and evolving the C.A.R. template forms used in most residential real property sales transactions in California. This CLE presentation is a general primer on the residential real property sales transaction, from listing to close of escrow. This program will also highlight critical legal issues that arise during real property sales transactions, including Buyer contingencies and required statutory disclosures by Seller.

Neil D. Kalin joined the California Association of REALTORS in 1987 and is now Assistant General Counsel. He is the senior legal advisor to C.A.R.'s Standard Forms Committee, provides advice to C.A.R. members on the Legal Hotline, and writes many of C.A.R.'s Appellate Court Briefs. Neil is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and has served as a Judge Pro Tem and a volunteer mediator and arbitrator for the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
